About Mahanth Group
Mahanth group was established in the year 1999. Initially the operations started with an entry into the automotive segment with a tie up with commercial automotive major PIAGGIO VEHICLES PVT LTD. The dealership was agreed for three districts namely Dharwad, Haveri and Uttara Kannada(Karwar).
Armed with success in the automobile division, Mr. Jayadev Agadi had an idea of expanding the presence of Mahanth Group in diverse sectors such as farming, trading, food industry, leisure and recreational sector.
Mahanth group’s brand hit the roof with Agadi Thota. Agadi Thota is a leisure and recreational orchard built on the theme of villages of North Karnataka. It is now the crown jewel of Mahanth Group. This orchard is spread across an area of 30 acres and is open all year long.
The organic farming and food industry is an offshoot of Agadi Thota. Various types of food products are produced from the yield which is organically grown in Agadi Thota. The product portfolio ranges from traditional North Karnataka chutneys and condiments to fruit based products like jams and juices.
After tasting success with commercial vehicles and farming industry, Mr. Girish Agadi, the second generation entrepreneur, planned to enter the lucrative and challenging business of two-wheeler dealership. In 2014, Mahanth group struck an agreement with Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) for the dealership of Honda Two Wheelers for the entire district of Haveri. Haveri is a district dominated by farmers, who frequently travel to nearby cities on their two-wheelers. Mahanth Group has showrooms and service stations in all seven talukas of Haveri district and each of them has received a great response.
Being a visionary, Mr. Girish Agadi also had a glimpse of where the world is heading in terms of transportation. Keeping that in mind, they have acquired the dealership of BGAUSS - Electric Scooter from one of the veterans in electrical solutions - RR Kabel. The dealership was acquired to cater to the needs of Dharwad district. The electric scooter is affordable and energy efficient. They have made early inroads in the extremely congested fossil fuel based two-wheeler market.
Electric two-wheeler segment in the country has seen a surge in sales and this has allowed promising startups in the EV segment to come up with exciting two wheelers. Tork Motors is one such startup and Mahanth Group were able to gauge their potential and got a dealership in February 2023.
